Here’s another 6” x 9” commission~ Ness Lee asked me to draw “sex” soooo here it is. Let your mind make up the rest. ;)
Here’s another 6”x9” commission~
This one was really personal to me so i’m gonna explain it.
My good friend Jocelyn commissioned me to draw based on quantum physics, space & time, which are 3 of my all-time favourite things. I used to infuse these sentiments a lot in my work and use my own system of symbols to represent what I know about these things (theoretically to a degree) but the more I did it, the more esoteric my work became and slightly “too abstract”, where by my thesis I had to scrap this system i’d carefully constructed in order to be more “readable to the mainstream” or what have you. But doing this drawing has reignited and reaffirmed my passion for these subjects and the vitality it holds for me to include it in my work. That it’s okay to be a little esoteric. Everything I draw has a weight to it, and with certain academia there’s a dialogue and certain energetic strength that its ideas carry for me. I want to carry them further with my own visual representations of a incorporeal thought and feeling, so that maybe one day they can actually be “readable to the mainstream”.
There’s more to this, but i’ll talk about it later…
I chose to illustrate a breaking parabolic sphere among growing foliage to show time, with many converging forms that could be anything or everything to show the variation in space, and the reconfiguring that happens when we take certain materials and fashion things out of them for our own social/emotional/physical contexts.
Thank you so much jocey, for this.
Here’s another 6” x 9” commission✹ Sam asked me to draw a horned animal skull with leaves and daggers round it so I did, and I had fun. Fleshing out the abstract compositions and playful daggers I used to do, with some thick white foliage on black as homage to sam. woof!
Here’s another 6” x 9” commission~~
Marta asked me to draw a tiger sulking in a jungle so I went all out with the warm vibes, a contrast of colour and environment to the last commission, this was also really fun. Boo to winter!
